About HijriToday
We are an independent developer team from the Muslim community, building open tools and services to serve Muslims worldwide.
Our Mission
HijriToday was born out of a simple need: accurate, reliable, and accessible Hijri (Islamic) calendar information for everyone. As Muslims living in different parts of the world, we often found existing tools to be fragmented, outdated, or locked behind paywalls. We set out to change that.
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive, free, and developer-friendly platform that makes Islamic calendar data available to individuals, communities, mosques, and organizations across the globe — through APIs, embeddable widgets, web apps, and downloadable resources.
What We Build
- Hijri Calendar API — RESTful API for Hijri-Gregorian date conversion, holiday lookup, historical events, and daily verse data. Free, fast, and served from a global edge network.
- Web Application — A full-featured, multilingual website (English, Arabic, Urdu) with calendar views, event listings, notable figures, and date conversion tools.
- Embeddable Widgets — Lightweight, dependency-free widgets that any website can embed to display today's Hijri date or a daily Quran verse.
- PDF Calendar — Downloadable annual Hijri calendar PDFs with adjustable date offsets to account for regional moon-sighting differences.
- Open Data — Our complete dataset (holidays, historical events, notable Muslim figures) is available as a downloadable SQLite file for researchers and developers.
